McHenry County Democrats gathered at the Pleasant Valley Conservation Area west of Lakewood on Pleasant Valley Road mid-Sunday to donate blood to Heartland Blood Centers.

McHenry County Democratic Party Chairman Mike Bissett stands next to Heartland Blood bus as people wait their turn.

There were 30-40 cars in the parking lot.

New arrivals headed to the sign-up tent at Pleasant Valley.

Party Chairman Mike Bissett reported that about 100 people attended the event and the blood mobile was fully occupied at least as long as he was present.

Twenty pints of blood were collected over the four-hour period.

Dems Cancel Tax March

0
0

Not quite sure whether Democrats planned to march in favor of progressive income taxes for Illinois or against the income tax revision passed by the Republican Congress and signed by President Trump.

In any event, it was to be this afternoon at the Woodstock Square, but has been cancelled.

Here is what the McHenry County Democratic Party postedf:

EVENT CANCELLED  In the interests of safety, the Tax March for Woodstock Square has been canceled.  If you must travel, please be careful out there.

Instead, check out Tax March events happening across the country:https://taxmarch.org/events/

Looking at the event’s logo, I guess it was aimed at Trump.

The mass removal of Democratic Precinct Committeemen by Democratic Party Chairman Mike Bissett shows up next in the suit.

“On October 17, 2017, Defendant Bisset (sic) removed many precinct committee members, including Plaintiff Barber.

“Following these removals, Defendant Bisset held a vote to remove Plaintiff [Kerri] Barber’s husband [Doug].

“Plaintiff Barber’s husband was removed as district chair.

“Defendant Barber (sic) sent a letter explaining these events to the removed precinct committee members (attached hereto as Exhibit A).

October 17, 2017, letter to Precinct Committeemen from Democratic Party Chairman Mike Bissett.

“Many removed precinct committee members were reinstated following the vote and the appointment of a new District 1 Chairman.

“Plaintiff Barber[‘s husband?] was not reinstated.”

The suit then moves on to an audit commissioned by Barber’s company, Heroic Media.

“In October 2017, the Plaintiffs voluntarily hired independent auditors to review Heroic Media including  its volunteer work for candidates.

“The independent auditors concluded that Heroic Media properly and ethically conducted its business and volunteer work for candidates.

“On October 5, 2017, the Plaintiffs sent a letter to Defendant Bisset and Defendant Zahorik advising that the statements made by board members and others were untrue, advising them of the findings of the independent auditor, and advising them that the false statements damaged for whom they
volunteered (attached hereto as Exhibit B).”

Audit letter about Heroic Media addressed to top two officers of the McHenry County Democratic Party.

The next part of Kerri Barber’s suit against the McHenry County Democratic Party Chairman Mike Bissett, his wife Paula Yensen, Party Vice Chair Kristina Zahorik and State Senate candidate Nancy Zettler now moves to the November Central Committee meeting.

Kristina Zahorik speaks at AFSCME state employee rally in the Woodstock Square.

“In November 2017, Defendant Zahorik made public statements about the Plaintiffs at a Democratic Party Meeting.

“Defendant Zahorik stated Plaintiff Barber lied.

“Defendant Zahorik stated Plaintiff Barber spread false information about the Democratic Party.

“Defendant Zahorik stated Plaintiff Barber provided false advice to candidates.

“Local Democratic Party leaders withheld support from one of the Plaintiffs candidates, Mr. Georgi, unless he agreed to sever ties with the Plaintiffs.

“The Plaintiffs severed ties with Mr. Georgi so that he would not be harmed.

“Local Democratic Party leaders told another of the Plaintiffs candidates, Mr. Vijuk, that he was ‘tainted’ by working with the Plaintiffs.

“The Democratic Party withheld tools and resources from Mr. Vijuk because he worked with the Plaintiffs.

“The Plaintiffs severed ties with Mr. Vijuk, again, so that he would not be harmed.”

Summing up, the filing says,

“The Defendants acted with intent and actual malice when they engaged in the foregoing conduct because they intended to harm the Plaintiffs.”

Tomorrow the laws used to back up the facts presented by the Plaintiffs.

More Evidence of Democratic Party Infighting

During June, McHenry County Blog ran the court papers in a suit between progressive and organization Democrats.

Here is evidence that the fight continues.

A friend of McHenry County Blog penned this piece:

McHenry County Dems’ District 1 Chairman Kathryn Potter Trashes Jack Franks Again

McHenry County Democratic Party’s District 1 Chairman Kathryn Potter once again took to Facebook to trash the most powerful Democrat in the county, Jack Franks.

(She criticized him earlier this month when he offered ice cream to his constituents.)

She also rebuked State Rep. Allen Skillicorn.

Her criticism focused on two aspects.

  1. Franks and Skillicorn should not meddle in outside affairs.
  2. As state lawmakers, Franks and Skillicorn could have lowered property taxes by shifting more education spending to the state but refused.

Is Potter considering a far-left primary challenge against Franks for McHenry County Board Chairman in 2020?

As revealed in her previous attack on Franks, Potter supports

  • an income tax hike via amending the Illinois Constitution and enacting a progressive income tax,
  • getting rid of McHenry County’s ICE detention facility (even Bernie Sanders refuses to say ICE should be abolished), and
  • no cuts to school spending despite 74% of voters demanding cuts.

She accused Franks of “lying” and “undermining local Democrats.”

Potter herself was not in attendance at yesterday’s Algonquin Township meeting, although Democratic county board candidate Michael Vijuk was.

McHenry County Dems Gets Another Almost $12,000 from Pritzker

As previously reported, the McHenry County Democratic Central Committee received, on July 31st,  $11,833.33 of the $1 million JB Pritzker gave to the Democratic Central Committee of Rock Island County.

On September 16th (today), another $11,833.33 contribution to local Democrats was reported.

No similar sugar daddy has been found by McHenry County Republicans.

The Republican Party started July with $1,531.37 and received $1,000 from Citizens for Rauner on July 6th.

How Local Democrats Spent JB Pritzker’s Money Last Fall

0
0

With $34,199.99 being funneled through the Democratic Central Committee of Rock Island County by JB Pritzker, the McHenry County Democratic Central Committee was able to run a $32,032.37 fall campaign and have $11,645.89 left over.

Maybe the committee will use $2,547.13 to repay former Chairman Mike Bissett loans he made to the cause in 2017 and 2018.

During the run-up to the fall election only four people besides Pritzker’s indirect contribution were in amounts large enough quire reporting it by name:

  • Michael Bissett – $171
  • Michael Jordan (Riverside) – $200
  • John Labaj – $275
  • Wendy Piersall – $89 (under $150, but still reported by; name)

$2,507 was contributed in amounts under $150, so names of contributors were not made public’.

But, more interesting than where the Democrats money originated is how $31,823.94 was spent.

  • $9,112.19 printing (Forest Printing, Park Forest, bills paid on
    • 10-1, $485.43
    • 10-1, $412.63
    • 10-1, $485.43
    • 10-11, $2,613.73
    • 10-13, $626.22
    • 10-15, $2,429.49
    • 10-26, $611.75
    • 10-29, $1,447.51
  • $8,510.66 – Postage
    • 10-3, $3,130.52
    • 10-15, $2,542.15
    • 10-29, $2,810.66
  • $8,144 – internet advertising (Capitol Media Strategies, Annapolis, MD)
  • $775 –  Rent (McHenry County College)
  • $430 – rent (CL Park District)
  • $363.90 – Internet access
  • $246 – Storage
  • $233.28 – web site (GoDaddy)
  • $177 – web site (Nation Builder, LA, CA)

The Democrats’ money that came from above was enough to pay for all fall election expenses.

There was $11,645.89 left in the bank as of January 1st.
